The HDM-I company, founded in 2007, looks back on 10 years of history: as a spin-off of the European Media Laboratory, we have a long tradition of developing information systems for pedestrians, focusing on location-based features and human-computer interaction. For more than 2 years, we have been operating a context-sensitive information portal via WIFI in Heidelberg. Today, apart from constantly improving the portal technology, HDM-I works on deploying it in other cities and contexts. The underlying Deep Map technology is suited to all scenarios with a high demand of location-based information: cities, shopping malls, train stations, airports, corporate and exhibition premises. Our 4 product lines reflect this: Deep Map City, Corporate, Shopping, Venue.Deep Map is consistently tailored to mobile users, accounting for small displays and a user´s current situation: the solution to offer mobile information adapted to small devices' technical limitations as well as to users' demands.
